September is an important month for Newcastle.

On September 5, the Casino Advisory Panel is coming to assess our bid for a regional casino. Our plan is to develop a Convention Centre and Casino which we think will bring real benefits to the city.

Lots of you will have been on holiday over the summer and spent time exploring the towns and villages you’ve visited. But how often do you take a good look round your home town? We hope our guide to some of Newcastle’s heritage hotspots will inspire you.

We also want to encourage you to help us keep our city clean and green so we’re running an Environment Week in September. In October, we’ve got lots planned for National Customer Service Week, including a return to the frontline by some of our senior managers. With all this plus lots of fantastic competitions, what’s on guide and lots, lots more, we’re sure you’ll find plenty to enjoy in this edition of Citylife.

If you’ve got any questions or suggestions for Citylife, we want to hear from you. Call 0191 211 5093 or email:citylife@newcastle.gov.uk

Bulky waste collection charges
