When you have your first child, one of your main worries is, “am I doing a good job as a parent?”

Checking life stages for babies with SurestartWell there’s now a website that can help to put your mind at ease. It can also give you a little bit more advice on how to care for your baby if you would like it.

Rachael Chalder (pictured) took part in the pilot of "NHS Choices Baby LifeCheck" which is aimed at parents and carers of babies aged between five and eight months old. Her daughter, Ava, was six months old and Rachael regularly attend Sure Start West Riverside Children's Centre groups where she found out about the website.

Rachael tells us, “We went to the Nunsmoor Centre and did the pilot on one of their computers. It's an online questionnaire that gives you a series of questions to answer and you’re only able to choose one. At the end it gives you feedback on your answers and gives advice about some of the things you’ve said.

“Nothing was a huge surprise. They asked about bedtime routines, feeding and bath times. Ava’s started to teethe, so some of the advice was about cleaning her teeth straight away.

“It was really easy and simple to use."
