Newcastle upon Tyne is a vibrant City which attracts all kinds of events from large music events through to small community festivals. We believe that to be a successful event it must first and foremost be a safe event both for those attending it and for those hosting it.
The information on this website has been designed to provide advice and information to Event Organisers wishing to arrange an event on Newcastle City Council Land.
This is intended as a simple step by step guide to running an event. It is not a definitive guide to event safety or management. It is offered without regard to the specific circumstances of individual events and/or the knowledge or experience of the individuals running those events.
Event organisers should always seek advice from experienced health and safety and event management professions before proceeding. However, the information contained on this website can also be used for all events whether they take place on Newcastle City Council Land or on private land.
Please note that the risk assessments and event manuals on this site are examples of good practice. The event advisor cannot vet individual cases for accuracy or content.
The following list, although not exhaustive, gives an idea of the types of event to which application of this guidance is appropriate:
If your event is a commercial promotion or awareness campaign please contact 0191 277 1920.

Please note it is not possible to respond to individual student enquiries due to limited resources.
Remember, it is likely that the event organiser will require additional information to that found on this website. It is therefore important the event organiser makes contact with the Licensing Authority.
