Our 24 Hour Library means that even if your local library is not open, you can still access a range of useful services. These include reserving items online, renewing items online, downloading ebooks, using reference websites and online chat with a librarian 24/7.

The Online Catalogue

  • Your library account online

Access your library account online from home to renew or reserve items. You will need your library card and your PIN to do this. If you do not know your PIN please ask a member of staff at you local library or phone 0191 2774100.

If you would like to join Newcastle Libraries you can apply online and we will post your card out to you.

Chat to a librarian online 24/7

Enquire offers a live question and answer service available 24 hours a day, every day. Helping people to find information is what libraries do. You can ask absolutely anything, and library staff will help you to find the answer. Use the chat box below or chat to a librarian via Enquire. Please note: You probably will not speak to someone from our library service as many libraries take part in delivering Enquire.

Enquire librarians also take part in Yahoo Answers, a popular site where anyone can share what they know to help out other people. And it’s all free!
